WHO WE ARE
Our Roots
In 1996, Ike Udeh was drafted into professional soccer by the Kansas City Wizards. But this is not the start of his story.
Ike was born in Enugu, Nigeria and grew up with a passion for education and sports. His athletic and academic achievements earned him national fame as a young man. This created the opportunity to come to America as a scholarship athlete in 1992.
During Ike's long and successful career, he realized that his accomplishments were rooted in a solid foundation of family, faith, education, and sports. He knew in his heart that personal success was not enough. He had to give back, and understood that it is the next generation of young girls and boys that hold the keys to a better world. All they need is an opportunity.
Here at The Ike Udeh Foundation, a registered 501c3 organization, we are committed to creating these opportunities. Right now, we are building a 4-story library and life-center in Ike's birthplace of Nigeria. Here, young people will gain access to knowledge and life skills, and grow into the future leaders our world needs.
